If youre solving for r from C equals 2 pi r, then r equals C divided by 2 pi. If youre solving for d from C equals pi d, then d equals C divided by pi. Pause and predict number one. Youre given the circumference, and youre asked for the diameter. Do you divide by pior by 2 pi? Pause. Answer: divide by pi. Why? Because diameter matches the formula C equals pi d. Theres no 2 in that one. Pause and predict number two. Youre given the circumference, and youre asked for the radius. Do you divide by pior by 2 pi? Pause. Answer: divide by 2 pi. Why?
