Workspaces & tenancy

How StudyBits isolates each organization's data and people.

Workspaces & tenancy

A workspace is your organization's StudyBits — its people, roles, connected sources, courses, and the Assistant's knowledge. Each workspace is a tenant: its data is isolated from every other organization's.

What lives in a workspace

  • People & roles — your members and what each can do.
  • Identity — the connection to your IdP for SSO and directory sync.
  • Connectors — the company sources the Assistant learns from.
  • Knowledge — the workspace's own, isolated index of that content.
  • Courses & programs — everything created and assigned.
  • Branding — your name, logo, and colors.

Isolation

Every workspace's knowledge and data are kept separate. The Assistant in your workspace only ever draws on your connected sources, and a person in one workspace can never see another's content. For stronger isolation guarantees (dedicated or in-your-own-cloud), see Deployment models.

One person, the right workspace

When someone signs in through your identity provider, StudyBits places them in your workspace with the role your group mappings define. They don't pick a workspace or manage which one they're in — it's handled by identity.
