Connectors are how StudyBits learns your company's knowledge. Each connector links a company tool — Slack, Google Drive, Confluence, and dozens more — so the StudyBits Assistant can answer from it and creators can build courses from it.
Permission-aware by design. Connectors read each source's existing permissions, so a person only ever sees answers from content they already have access to. Connecting a source never widens who can see what.
Connect a source
Open Connectors
Go to Studio → Settings → Connectors and choose Add connector.
Pick the source
Select the tool you want to connect. StudyBits supports popular chat, docs, mail, engineering, and CRM sources — see the full list.
Authorize with least privilege
Authorize the connection using OAuth or a service account scoped to read-only access for the content you want indexed. Grant the narrowest scope that covers it.
Choose what to index
Pick the spaces, drives, channels, or repositories to include. Start narrow — you can broaden later.
Save and let it index
Save the connector. StudyBits begins indexing in the background — see Indexing & learning.
Recommended first connectors
| If your knowledge lives in… | Connect |
|---|---|
| Team chat | Slack, Microsoft Teams |
| Docs & wikis | Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, Notion |
| Mail & calendar | Gmail, Outlook |
| Engineering | GitHub, Jira |
| Sales & support | Salesforce, Zendesk |
You don't need to connect everything at once. Connect one or two, confirm answers look right, then add more.
Verify permissions before launch
Before going live, sign in as a test learner and confirm the assistant only returns content that user should see. This is the single most important check — do it for every new connector.
