StudyBits offers three deployment models. The product is identical in all three — the only difference is where the infrastructure runs and how much isolation and control you need.
Not sure which you need? Most teams start on Cloud and move to a dedicated or in-your-cloud model only when a security or data-residency requirement calls for it. You can change models without re-doing your content.
Cloud (default)
StudyBits hosts and runs everything for you. No infrastructure to set up; we handle scaling, upgrades, patching, and monitoring.
Choose this when you want the fastest path to value and a simple, out-of-the-box experience.
Dedicated
A fully isolated StudyBits instance with its own database and search index, operated by StudyBits. Your data is never co-located with any other customer's.
Choose this when you want single-tenant isolation guarantees but don't want to run infrastructure yourself.
In your cloud
StudyBits deploys an isolated instance inside your own AWS, Azure, or GCP account, so your data never leaves your organizational boundary. StudyBits still operates it as a managed service.
Choose this when you have strict data-residency requirements, need full access to raw logs, or want to apply your own network and org-level controls.
