StudyBits signs your people in through your existing identity provider (IdP) using SAML or OIDC. Once connected, anyone in your organization can sign in with the credentials they already use — no separate passwords, and access is revoked automatically when someone leaves.
Works with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Google Workspace, OneLogin, JumpCloud, Ping, and any standard SAML/OIDC provider.
Connect it
Open the SSO setup
In Studio → Settings → Single sign-on, choose Set up SSO. StudyBits opens a guided, click-through setup portal.
Pick your provider
Select your IdP from the list (or choose generic SAML / OIDC). The portal shows exactly what to copy where — it's tailored to your provider.
Create the connection in your IdP
Following the on-screen steps, create a StudyBits app in your IdP and paste the two values it asks for (typically an ACS URL and an Entity ID for SAML, or a redirect URI and client credentials for OIDC).
Map an email attribute
Confirm the connection sends each user's email (and optionally first/last name). StudyBits uses email as the stable identity.
Test and save
Run the built-in test. A green check means a real user from your IdP can sign in. Save the connection.
The setup portal is self-service — you can hand the link to whoever administers your IdP and they can complete the connection without StudyBits admin access.
What your people experience
After SSO is connected:
- They go to your StudyBits URL and choose Sign in with SSO.
- They authenticate with your IdP.
- They land in StudyBits in the correct role and workspace automatically.
Recommended
- Prefer OIDC when your IdP supports it — it has cleaner permission handling and faster directory updates.
- Turn on directory sync next so people and roles stay in step with your IdP automatically.
